About This Tool

PDF Watermark adds a text or image watermark to every page of your PDF document. This is essential for marking documents as "Draft," "Confidential," or "Sample," or for branding pages with a company logo. The tool gives you full control over the watermark appearance - adjust the text content, font size, color, opacity, rotation angle, and position to get exactly the look you need.

For text watermarks, type your desired text and customize the font, size, color, and transparency. The watermark can be centered, positioned in a corner, or tiled across the page. For image watermarks, upload a PNG or JPEG logo and set the size, opacity, and placement. Both text and image watermarks can be rotated at any angle, with diagonal placement being the most common for security marking.

The tool processes your PDF entirely in the browser using pdf-lib. Each page receives the watermark as an overlay, and the result is a new PDF file ready for download. Your original document and any uploaded logo images stay on your device throughout the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can choose either a text watermark or an image watermark for each operation. Apply the PDF through the tool once for text and again for an image if you need both, or use the text option which covers most watermarking needs.
Use the opacity slider to control transparency. A value of 100% makes the watermark fully opaque, while lower values like 20-30% create a subtle, semi-transparent effect that is visible but does not obscure the document content.
The tool applies the watermark to all pages by default for consistency. If you need to watermark only certain pages, use the PDF Split tool first to extract those pages, watermark them, and then merge everything back together.
You can upload PNG and JPEG images as watermarks. PNG is recommended if you need transparency in the watermark image itself, such as a logo with a transparent background.
The watermark is placed as an overlay on top of the page content. With appropriate opacity settings (20-40%), the original text remains readable beneath the watermark. You can also position the watermark to avoid critical content areas.
